Eden Hazard awarded ‘Ballon Wood’ by Chelsea team-mates

Eden Hazard may not have picked up this year’s Ballon d’Or award but his Chelsea team-mates ensured he wasn’t left empty-handed, presenting him with the ‘Ballon Wood’.

The ‘trophy’ may be Stamford Bridge’s equivalent of the wooden spoon, but this didn’t seem to bother the Belgian, who happily posed for pictures with his prize.

Hazard posted the photo on Instagram, where he could be seen grinning happily, clutching the booby prize which had been signed by his Chelsea team-mates.

He wrote: ‘It’s not the ballon d’or for me it’s ballon wood. Hahahaha.’
