Mourinho respects Shrewsbury : Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup is not a friendly.

Jose Mourinho will make changes for tonight’s game at Shrewsbury but with complete respect for our in-form League Two opposition.
The Shrews come into tonight’s Capital One Cup fourth round tie on the back of four straight league wins, while they have already defeated three higher-division teams in this competition including Leicester City of the Premier League.
Chelsea side will be running out tonight just over 48 hours after the conclusion of Sunday’s game at Old Trafford. It is with that match in mind – as well as the injuries and suspensions currently affecting the squad – that the manager will rotate his team.
‘We are in a difficult situation because of the Man United game on Sunday,’ the manager explained.
‘We’ve only had one day to prepare but when you look at the players who didn’t play – Schurrle, Mohamed Salah, Zouma, Ake, Mikel – these boys are obviously going to have to play. After that I have to play with players that played the game against Man United.
‘We know we have a difficult match because they are doing very well in their league and they have done very well against superior teams in the Capital One Cup. It’s a big day for them. We know it will be difficult for us but that’s football.
‘Every game is important. Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup is not a friendly. We have to play matches with respect and the best way to respect Shrewsbury is to go there with a good team, not to go there with a weak team and lose. We will go there with a good team. If they win they win, but they win against a good team.’
The manager hopes to have Diego Costa back for our league game against QPR on Saturday, while he will not know whether Didier Drogba will be fit enough to play tonight until closer to kick-off.
One man who will be hoping to feature against Shrewsbury is Lewis Baker. The midfielder was named on the bench at Old Trafford as he had been for our third round game in this competition, against Bolton.
‘He has a chance to play,’ reported Mourinho. ‘I don’t know if he will start.
‘He has a long way to go but he has the potential. That is why he is a Chelsea first team player. We are sure that he will be a good player.’
