Jose Mourinho has ruled Diego Costa, Ramires, Andre Schurrle and John Mikel Obi out of participation in tomorrow’s Champions League game against Maribor.
Ramires and Andre Schurrle were part of the group which trained at Cobham this morning [Monday] but the match will come too soon for them to be involved.
The Brazilian has been out since limping off during our 1-1 draw at Manchester City last month with a muscle injury, and remained at the training ground during the recent international break.
Schurrle sat out our weekend win at Crystal Palace. The German missed his national team’s European Championship qualifier against Republic of Ireland last week through illness.
Mikel was on the bench on Saturday but has a foot injury sustained on international duty with Nigeria.
Didier Drogba trained today. The Ivorian was a late substitute on Saturday, but featured in that game having not trained with his team-mates in the build-up.
In the absence of Diego Costa, Dominic Solanke, 17, was named on the bench at the weekend and will again be among the subs for tomorrow’s game.
