Chelsea brought one point from Southampton (1-1) Sunday at the 19th day of the Premier League. Eden Hazard (45) responded to the opener Mane (17th). The Blues will turn head to mid-season. They keep three points ahead of Manchester City, who conceded a draw against Burnley (2-2).
Chelsea have to settle for one little
point. On the lawn of Southampton, the Blues have brought a draw (1-1) on
Sunday. It’s not enough. But as Manchester City also had to share the points
with Burnley (2-2), they keep three steps ahead in the lead. This also guarantees
that Chelsea will stay on the top at the end of the first phase of this
exercise in the Premier League. After three successful ranking in the league, Jose
Mourinho soldiers slow down the pace a bit. And once again, away from Stamford
Bridge.
Before their victory in Stoke on Monday
(0-2), the last two away games, Sunderland held Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea to a
scoreless draw (0-0) following by a defeat in Newcastle (2-1). Again, the Blues
have forgot to refuel their gas tank in Stamford Bridge before they come St.Mary's Stadium
They have also lost two more points than winning one. For the second half, the
Londoners, who could have benefited from a penalty in the 55th was tripped
inside the box and denied a penalty, would have clearly dominated the game.
They laid siege in front of the Saints penalty area but were unable to
conclude, despite the entry of Didier Drogba (74th). They may have missed a bit
of juice to get there.

For their third game of the week, John
Terry's teammates have also been slow to accelerate the pace with this team of
Southampton, back in shape. In the first period, the leader dominated
possession but actually failed to put in shooting position. Chelsea had a shot
in the first period. But the skills of Eden Hazard made the difference.
Launched by Cesc Fabregas, the Belgian opened the way to the goal by itself to
score his seventh goal of the season (1-1, 45th). Eden has allowed his team to
equalize after the opening of Sadio Mane.
The pass by Fabregas was almost as good as the finish from Hazard!

13 - Cesc Fabregas is the first player in PL history to hit 13 assists in his first 18 appearances of the season. Peerless.

If Southampton finished 10 after the second
yellow card received by Morgan Schneiderlin in the 89th, Chelsea gave up and
made do with Hazard’s goal and a draw. This is not the end. Of course, the
result of Manchester City somewhat mitigates the disappointment of Londoners.
But Tottenham Thursday, the Blues have to come back with a full pocket this
time.
